Project Navayan: Eluru District, Kaikaluru Mandal, Atapaka Gram Panchayat Area: Food Donation Programme by John Peta Youth Association
Nestled within the picturesque landscapes of Eluru District, you’ll find John Peta village. This serene village, home to 300 families and approximately 2000 residents falls under the jurisdiction of the Atapaka Gram Panchayat in Kaikaluru Mandal. However, despite its tranquility, John Peta has recently encountered significant challenges.
The COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting lockdown have cast a shadow of adversity over the lives of its inhabitants. Most families are grappling with the harsh realities of life, with the situation being particularly dire for those classified as “Below Poverty Line” (BPL).
Initially, the lockdown was slated to last for a month, but it has now been extended until May 17th. During this extended period, daily-wage laborers and economically disadvantaged families in John Peta are struggling to make ends meet.
In response to this critical situation, Navayan has initiated a noble cause. We are providing essential daily supplies, including rice, vegetables, lentils, and cooking oil, in the form of relief packages to the families of John Peta. This compassionate endeavor is being carried out under the banner of the Jan Peta Youth Association.
We are extending our call to the broader community, seeking contributions to bolster our efforts. Donations are being collected through various channels, including social media and local donors in the Kaikaluru Mandal region.
Our Youth Association members are dedicated to transparency, ensuring that the aid reaches those who need it most. For detailed information on donations, expenses, and how to contribute, please visit the Donors section on our Facebook page, “John Peta Youth Association,” and our website, “Navayan.org”
The estimated cost of this food donation program is approximately INR 1,50,000/-. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Kaikaluru MLA Shri Dulam Nageshwara Rao, who has already contributed INR 90,000/- toward this noble cause. To further strengthen our efforts, we are actively seeking additional contributions totaling INR 60,000/- through our network of social media friends.
Your support will be immensely valued and will enable us to provide essential provisions to the families of John Peta village who are facing the repercussions of this crisis. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.
