On the auspicious occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, Kaikaluru MLA Sri Dulam Nageswara Rao and MLC Sri Jayamangala Venkataramana, the chief guests, laid the foundation stone for the Ambedkar Knowledge Center (AKC) and Prabuddha Cultural Center Vihar. This significant project, initiated by the Navayan Buddhist Society, is taking shape in John Peta Village, situated within Kaikaluru Mandal’s Atapaka Panchayat. The foundation stone ceremony followed Buddhist traditions, including the reading of the Panchaseela, conducted by Mr. Rabindranath Pamu Garu, the Eluru District Convenor of the Buddhist Society of India. The entire program was skillfully coordinated by Mr. Kishore Panem, the Principal of Jagriti School.
The Ambedkar Knowledge Center and Prabuddha Cultural Center building project aligns with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision of “Educate Agitate and Organize.” Its objectives encompass providing quality education and enhancing vocational skills for Dalit Bahujans, establishing a hub for human rights advocacy, community development, and fostering inter-communal harmony. At its core, the Prabuddha Cultural Center aims to create a casteless society that encourages free inter-caste and inter-faith marriages.
To bolster educational development among the Dalit Bahujans of Kaikaluru Constituency, the project seeks to construct a state-of-the-art computer lab, conference room, and a modern library. This endeavor is made possible on the 10 cents of land generously allocated by MLA Sri Dulam Nageswara Rao. The Navayan team extends heartfelt gratitude to Mr. DNR for his invaluable contribution and to Atapaka Sarpanch Talari John Mani for facilitating the land allotment on behalf of Atapaka Gram Panchayat, following DNR’s directives.
The event featured Dr. Gowada Veerraju, Head of Political Science and Public Administration at Andhra University, as the keynote speaker. It was presided over by Atapaka Sarpanch Mrs. Talari Mani John.
