Kaikaluru/Eluru: Project Navayan orchestrated a special Aadhaar camp at the residences of sanitation workers in Atapaka village, emphasizing its commitment to safeguarding the basic human rights of the most marginalized sections of society.
Founder President of Project Navayan, Vijay Vangalapudi, underscored the significance of the initiative, stating, “This camp is a critical step towards ensuring that sanitation workers not only obtain recognition and proper addresses but also gain access to a range of government schemes for their children. Our aim is to ensure that they become the last generation to engage in both sanitation work and lack of education within their families.”
Atapaka village sanitation workers have long been deprived of recognition and access to government schemes, leading to their plight and exclusion from basic rights essential for a dignified life.
In response to this pressing issue, Project Navayan facilitated the relocation of the sanitation workers’ addresses to C/o Ambedkar Knowledge Center, a human rights organization operated from the John Peta village center.
President Sudhir Rainutala, of the Project Navayan Youth Wing, Jan Peta Youth Association, emphasized that this step would render the sanitation workers eligible for various government identity cards and schemes.
Atapaka President John Talari expressed optimism that this transformative measure would significantly improve the lives of those who have faithfully carried out sanitation duties in the village for years.
Acknowledging the hardships faced by the lower strata of society, John Peta village leader Madan Kummarikunta highlighted the collective responsibility to provide essential support to those lacking minimum facilities, enabling them to progress alongside the community.
The Aadhaar program was conducted by staff members Surendra Karri and Ravi Kishore under the leadership of the John Peta Youth Association team, with the support of Kaikaluru Post Office Manager, Dan Anandaya Vinay Kumar.
The event witnessed the participation of Atapaka Sarpanch Talari Manamma, VRO Krishna Prasad, Village Head Ravi Wangevarepu, as well as Volunteers Koonavarapu Rajasekhar and Boothapati Kalyan, among others. Project Navayan extended its gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event.
